Mostly and normally we always listen and aware with caption "Think Out of the Square" and mostly referred to our life and the way we think in our life. This time how about relate it with what we should do in Design. As part of the idea I'll create wallpaper and using beautiful images from http://www.jeebsion.com/blog/ and Adobe Photoshop as the medium.
For sure the "square" is a common sense in design, paper size, monitor setting; interface layout and screen design and etc, all refer to square in shape or size. It's how the visual in 2D was previewed. Mostly it referred to height and width. I'm not talking about that essentially, however the focus more on take out the frame or square of certain image and preview with different type of display, as you can see image below.
As part of advantages, it's easier to place and set the layout as creative as we can. Square and square lead you to create a formal and Mondrian types of layout. I’m not saying that it's boring but, normal to see and less impact. Too organize and suitable only for formal products or ideas.
We can establish and creatively suggest the different types of layout even though the layout still square in shape. Let paper be the square but our idea out of it. Furthermore we can develop lots of different layout and ideas to play with.
